IN THE FIELD

field_bearskatingThe amazing and beautiful places featured on our website are all public lands and waters! That means as an American citizen, you own them and you have a say in how they’re managed. When we speak together with a united voice, we are a force to be reckoned with. In fact, we need your help to achieve enduring protection for these special places.

It is so important for the President and our elected leaders to hear from many people across the country – when you speak as a citizen concerned about these places – they hear the message that protecting these places is the right thing to do!

Increasing support can happen in many different ways – talking with your friends and neighbors about why you think these places are worth protecting, writing a letter to the editor of your local paper, or even having a party. We’re here to help you do any or all of those things and more.

Alaska Wilderness League's full-time field staff educate the public about wild Alaska and, working with dedicated volunteers, broaden public support for protecting these lands and waters.

In addition, we’ve created a grassroots toolkit if you’d like to try some things on your own.
