In response to the House passage of Trump’s budget bill, Kristen Miller, Executive Director of Alaska Wilderness League, issued the following statement:

“We are beyond disappointed that the House just joined the Senate in passing the biggest public land sell-off legislation in a generation. From the Arctic Refuge to the Cook Inlet, this bill mandates unrelenting and unnecessary development, putting the Arctic’s vital lands and waters at risk. We’re outraged but not deterred. The fight to protect Alaska is far from over, and our work starts now to stop this assault in its tracks and defend the wild places that make Alaska—and this country—so extraordinary.”
