Join Alaska Wilderness League for an Arctic Action Meeting in Newport Beach to learn how you can help protect the Arctic in Alaska and stand with Indigenous communities working to defend their homelands from oil and gas development. What happens in Alaska doesn’t just affect Alaska; it affects all of us. The Arctic is home to critical wildlife, lands, and waters, and decisions made there can have impacts far beyond the region. Right now, seismic testing threatens critical polar bear habitat and could disrupt the Arctic lands and waters that sustain Indigenous communities and wildlife. At this meeting, you’ll hear from Alaska Wilderness League organizers about what’s happening on the ground, why these threats matter, and how people in our community can take action. Together, we’ll explore how we can help protect the Arctic for future generations and stand with the Indigenous communities who have protected these lands for generations.
